Doonesbury mellows out as the seventies limp to the end. Duke defects from the Redskins to the NRA; Duane leaves Washington for Jerry Brown's California and the mastery of Mellowspeak (neat little Jerry and Linda Ronstadt sequence); Boopsie poses for Playboy; Jimmy Thudpucker retires; Jimmy Carter implodes. Nothing earth-shattering, but an appealing picture of an unappealing time.
In case you're wondering who the title refers to, Elizabeth Taylor.

Another quote I liked. "We'll be eating our way across France this summer..."

Oh my god, Lacy Davenport alive? Not just in Jeremy Cavendish's sad little fantasies?? Incredible!!
