I'd really give it a 3 and a half. I don't think this book is for everybody, and when i was first reading it I was like um...ok...but it's actually pretty good. Toscano's poetic theater is poetic verse meant to be performed in a way. sort of like spoken word mixed with beat poetry...to an extent. What i thought was really interesting is how its as if you are listening to other people's conversaions walking in and out of them. not fully getting everything but getting everything you need to unders...more
Ehhhhhh these poems didn't really work for me. They're theatrical for sure, but in the excessive and exaggerated sense rather than containing any actual drama. I really liked "Ecto-Strato-Static," but it may be because it was the only poem that really had any discernible plot or dramatic tension too it. The rest were just very convoluted performance poetry. "Traux Inimical" worked for a while too, but got more and more confusing during the second and third part. I may have gone into this with th...more
