Can a straight-laced business student and an indie boy with a thing for extremely personal electronics turn one night's wild ride into a trip to last forever?

A Midsummer Night's Steam story

Adam Holderman isn't your typical twenty-something college boy. He prefers jazz to Goth, shuns body piercings and street-waif clothing, and despises the lack of vocabulary among his peer

I’ve noticed that Catching a Buzz by Ally Blue has received mixed reviews. I’m not sure why some people didn’t care for it much, but I did. I liked Adam and Buzz’s budding relationship. The book has a quirkiness that I enjoyed, and it really was a fun and easy read, which is just what I was looking for.

Adam Holderman has been playing it safe all of his life. Instead of pursuing his dream as a writer, he’s majoring in business because that’s what his parents want. Plus, he hasn’t come out of the
I loved Buzzzzzz! This was a cool quick read on a otherwise uneventful day. Loved it!

I have certain expectations when I spend money on a book, whether it is a short one or a full length novel. If it's a freebie, I have no right to complain if it cuts off at 65% on my Kindle. If I actually spend money on it, I do have that right. Around the time I thought the story was actually getting started there was an abrupt ending.... at 65%. The other 35% was what I assume were descriptions of the author's other work though I don't know because I rarely (if ever) read that stuff at the end ...more

So, this was a sweet story of finding love, coming out and opposites attracting one another. It is summertime at the local water park and the new guy is set to take over for Adam's coworker and friend, Marcy. Enter Myron aka Buzz--and how did he come by the nickname? Oh please--as if I would give that little tidbit away! Needless to say I laughed until I cried when reading exactly what the"buzz" in the name Buzz meant. The story progresses as these two young men dance around the idea of dating a ...more
I have to admit I have a bit of a soft spot for pasty, thin, black haired goth boys so this story sounded just my thing. It was. Adam is a straight laced college student who gets on better with older adults than people his own age. He's working for the summer at a water park when he meets Buzz. Buzz is the opposite of everything Adam usually finds attractive. He's a goth, he calls him 'dude' and listens to noisy bands. Buzz comes on strongly but Adam resists him for a month, growing closer and m ...more

Wow – creative use of sex toys and nicknames! I’m not sure why, but I was surprised that I liked this book as much as I did.

Adam is a not-quite-out college guy working at a water park for the summer. Buzz is the new employee and everything Adam didn’t expect to ever like in another guy. Every day, Buzz asks Adam out, and every day Adam turns Buzz down. That is, until THE DAY! The sizzle keeps building between these two until it reaches the boiling point and Adam finally caves.

A short, sweet read about two college-aged guys with a light BDSM kink. Nothing spectacularly complicated in this one. It wasn't profound in any fashion, and I prefer my stories a bit longer and more complex. But every now and then a small dish of creme brulee just hits the spot, you know?
I was angry when I finished this story.
First, the cover. It’s a gorgeous cover, there’s no doubt about it. It’s the kind of cover art that belongs on some beautiful, romantic tale, something with a few laughs, a few tears, a few life lessons, and the hope for a happy future. And hotness, too. The cover makes me want to read the book, want to like it, finish it with a smile and keep it forever. That’s what good cover art is supposed to do, and the artist, Anne Cain, succeeded in this admirably. I
This started out being exactly what I was looking for: a nice, fluffy summer-fling romance. Adam and Buzz meet on their job at a water park, and I loved the light-hearted summery set-up.

Their first meeting and conversation was lovely and sweet and had me looking forward to more. But then we get to "as the weeks passed" and being told how they're now really good friends who've spent almost every day working together and taking all of their breaks together. /sigh. I hate being told things like tha

- I liked Buzz. He’s the laidback, joking sort, which is amusing; and it also makes his moments of seriousness more striking.
- I found the setting entertaining. Blue captures the monotony of working at a water park pretty well.
- This author is good at creating sexual tension, and she rarely disappoints on the payoff.

- The story is too short to show its characters or their co

I am a reader of fan fiction, so I’d thought I’d encountered pretty much everything… not so, apparently. Somehow this managed to hit on a squick I didn’t even know I had. I actually almost stopped reading it right then and there. I can go along with the beer bottle thing, though a big part of me really cringes at that, but actually inserting something into a penis? Squiiiiiiiiiiiiiick. Unfortunately, there’s nothing else redeeming about this. The narrator is an elitist jackass and utterly unlike ...more

Buzz with his iBuzz. Kinky! LOL
Buzz was awesome and just the right counterpart for Adam!
The freebie story called Cupcake Confessions at the author's website was adorable and a must read. Sort of an epilogue in a way! ♡
I was a little disappointed with this book. It started out so well and I was so looking forward to follow these guys getting to know each other. But there was a little build up and then BAM, the rest of the book was just sex. Sex that didn´t particularly appeal to me.
Adam was a guy with so many issues and they were barely touched. Both Adam and Buzz were interesting and likeable guys, but I hardly even got to know anything about them.
Another disappointing thing was that the book ended after 2/
Can't believe I never wrote a review on this one. Maybe I'm just now picking my jaw up off the floor, because I just did not see this one coming. Started out as a sweet little love story & ended up as holy hell, did that just happen? It was HOT. And other than a lack of character development & abrupt ending, I think I really liked it. Um, at least I can say I definitely caught the Buzz ;)
Two barley legal boys having sex on the hood of a car? Oh hell yeah. Such a cute story too. It was short so it felt a bit rushed but that didn't detract from my enjoyment much at all. Plus we got quite a bit of kinky sex for such a short. Thank god!
Too short and very sweet!

Despite a little bit of squick factor for me at one point--kids, don't try the glass stuff at home--I thoroughly liked the protagonists and was joyful to read about the beginning of their relationship.
The blurb was...weird. I think because of it, I was actually expecting something almost completely different. There wasn't any real conflict, so it wasn't exactly an engaging read, but it was a nice bit of pretty, so to speak.
Ally Blue also has a free sequel on her website. This is a really great follow-up to their story, and I definitely recommend reading it, too.
This was my first Ally Blue book. I think she has a simple way of telling a story. Although at one point the sex made me squirm (and not in a good way) Overall I dug it. The relationship made a sweet story.
Cute short about falling in love. Slight indulgence of kink, but it is mostly just a tentative guy exploring what he may want. If your looking for a quick fun read this is the book.

Very cute short story about Adam and Buzz. My only complaint is I would have liked it to last longer.
Cute read, but annoying that it ends at the 65% mark. The rest is samples and advertising.

A different story that I enjoyed. I liked Buzz and I wish the story was longer.

I really enjoyed this book but was shocked that it ended at the 65% mark.
Pretty average book, with a one hot sex scene, and a very abrupt ending.
A nice short story. I liked the guys, but the sex was a bit too kinky for me.
Short, sweet, funny, and kinky:).

Ally Blue is acknowledged by the world at large (or at least by her heroes, who tend to suffer a lot) as the Popess of Gay Angst. She has a great big suggestively-shaped hat and rides in a bullet-proof Plexiglas bubble in Christmas parades. Her harem of manwhores does double duty as bodyguards and inspirational entertainment.
