This book was amazing! This is one of the few books that I liked to read that wasn't about sports. I would definatly recommend this book to a friend or to anyone else. When you read this novel, you can't put it down. It gets really suspenseful and you never know what is going to happen next. That is how I was, I couldn't put the book down because it was so good. Lois Duncan is my favorite author and he writes the best horror/mystery books in my opinion. If you are ever looking for something to r More...

So I've talked about my Joan Lowery Nixon phase before. I actually think I discovered Lois Duncan right before Nixon, but the two will always go hand and hand in my mind. Together they perfectly satisfied my twelve-year-old thirst for a light blending of suspense and the macabre. And no Duncan book did that better than the deliciously creepy LOCKED IN TIME. I enjoyed all of her books and they all succeeded in giving me the chills at one point or another. My old copy of I Know What You Did Last Summer More...

Interested by the summary, I grabbed it from a book sale for 50 cents. I started it with lower expectations - Duncan's books always have fascinating plots, but sometimes I can't handle the stress of reading them. This, however, seemed a departure for her writing. Nore's situation was incredibly realistic, and while you were scared it wasn't horror-movie scary, more shocking scary at the reality of what is possible. The romance isn't overdone, and the characterization was fantastic. When I finish More...

I would have starred this higher if I was teenager reading it as I think I would have enjoyed it much more at about twelve. Duncan is a good writer and I plan to read more of her mysteries, but this was a just a bit too predictable. I don't think it was supposed to be a huge surprise but I figured out the mystery almost immediately, taking away some of the punch later on. However, she build tension slowly, the characters are relatively interesting and creepy, and I loved the setting (south Louis More...

I'm basing my review on the fact that this book was read by me more then 10 years ago. From what I remember, the book was awesome. It had strong characters, was entertaining (but predictable) and it made me contemplate the prose and cons of immortality for a very long time. I should read it again, but I have made the mistake of reminiscing over those teen-novels, (reading R.L Stine and Christopher Pike is NOT the same when you read them 10 years later), so I think I'll keep my pre-pubescent st More...

I've read one of Lois Duncan's novels in the past and thought it was AMAZING!
I found this book at a used book store and decided to read it, and I'm so glad I did!

This book was able to grasp and hold onto my attention throughout.
I think this may have been because of the characters. Each character's personality seemed to flow off the pages of the novel and into reality. There were times when I found myself truely annoyed at Josie because of her 'pre-teen brat-like attitude More...

I really loved the mystery and culture in this book. As a girl born and raised in Louisiana, I really appreciated all the southern characteristics of this book. Even though the whole mystery is obvious by the title and cover of the book, it's how the story gets there, and how the characters ended up that way that kept me so engrossed in this book.

A quick shivery read. Nore dreads meeting her dad's new family but when she joins them in a moldering old plantation in Louisiana cut off from all visitors, phones, and civilization she finds her original dread to be nothing compared with the reality of the situation. Lois Duncan knows how to get her reader caught up in the terror in this book.

A very mysterious book! Nore father had married a beautiful women name Lisette. But when Nore finds out Lisette secret nobody believes her what she says. Read this book to find out what the secret is and if Nore can save her father before they both get killed! I recommend this book to anyone. It's a really awesome book to read at night!

I love the concept of the book. Family doesn't age, mom looks beautiful, marries rich guys, kills rich guys and their family. When Nore discovers their seceret, her father doesn't believe her. I liked the way Lois Duncan made it to be a diary of Nore, so it put more feeling into it. Overall review: edge-of-your-seat good

I was a bit hesitant to read another Lois Duncan book after 'Stranger With My Face'. But I was more than willing to give Lois Duncan a second chance, since her other book 'Summer of Fear' is one of my favorite books. And well, 'Locked in Time' turned out to be much more like Summer of Fear than the latter. I was once again barely able to set the book down. And since the book is so short anyways, it was an easy read. But the suspense and excitement of the book kept me hooked. My only proble More...

We read this book in school and i really enjoyed it. I read it faster than we read it in class and found myself thinking about it during boring parts in my day! I really liked almost every chapter because there was always action in it. The only thing I didn't like was how her dad never found out.

The book keeps you intrigued with the suspense and spontanious actions of the characters. You never knew what was going to happen next. I loved it a lot, i would definitely reccomend it to others.

This is on my short list of re-read books. I loved this when I was a teenager and I haven't been able to find it until recently. The suspense is wonderful and characters are great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a quick, entertaining read.

This book was pretty interesting about Nore Robbins (the main character). This book is mostly about Nore and what she has to deal with. She has to deal with her mother's death. She also has to deal with her fathers remarriage and she has to deal with her new stepmother, stepbrother, and stepsister. Her stepmother's name is Lisette, her stepbrother's name is Gabe, and her stepsister's name is Josie. The theme of this book is that no matter how hard life is you have to deal with it.

While most of Duncan's books have faded in my memory since I read them so long ago, this one sticks. I remember how the story lingered with me for months afterward and even now I can recall the both chilling and tragic revelation.

I had hoped to like this, as I had read many of Duncan's books as a teen and thoroughly enjoyed them. But while the premise sounded promising, I felt let down by the ending. I thought it could've been ... well, more, I guess you'd say. I wanted it to be better than I thought it was.

I really liked this book. I picked it up on the dusty shelf in the public library and gave it a shot.***Always try that you might discover something unheard of.

The ending caught me off guard, but it gave me alot to think about.
(Always a good thing.)

If you read it- let me know what you think.
If you haven't read it, do so.

This is a good book for those who love a mystery that isn't all that scary. Though the plot is not all that complex (I had solved the mystery after chapter three) the characters are well developed and the storyline is interesting.

There may be some irony to saying this book has aged well. Even after twenty years, it still holds up as a solid teen thriller. Honestly, a good hoodoo of voodoo never gets old.
