The lovable heroine of this graphic novel for the pint sized set is sure to delight.

A very pink and fantastical graphic novel featuring a sassy, fun-loving mouse, this book is a fun and entertaining read for the elementary aged student. It switches back and forth between over the top, giant, appealing fantasy and a reality that is easy for kids to identify with. This graphic novel was about Babymouse and her dreams of becoming a rockstar. She plays the flute and has never been very good at it. This was a cute book. I would not use it as a teaching tool but it would be good to have in the class room library. I like how the picture were primarily white, black, and pink. This book is good for a little girls with vivid imaginations.I thought it flowed really nicely, but it was easy to follow which surprised me. The setup of the book while skimming through it the first time looked very confusing. But it was nice to see that it was not that hard of a read. I liked the volume, since it showe

Babymouse dreams of being a rock star but she has to make it through school band first and avoid getting picked on by Felicia Furrypaws. When Penny Poodle falls victim to one of Felicia’s attacks, she agrees to help Babymouse play her flute out of revenge. The story alternates between Babymouse’s imagination and reality, with witty allusions to well-known stories like the Wizard of Oz and the Pied Pieper. Readers will also enjoy the tongue-in-cheek interaction between Babymouse and narrator, who

741.59 Holm. It's a little odd that the writer/illustrator/publisher chose pink as the only color besides gray and black with which to create this book. Pink appeals to young girls, but the subject matter Baby Mouse dreams of, in and out of her reveries between her real life and imaginary, is more suited to 4th through even 7th grade. Baby Mouse's daydreams, commentaries and dealings with the bully Felicia Furrypaws are fun and funny. I totally related to the parents and grandparents at her fl

In her daydreams Babymouse is a famous musician. She plans to start the journey toward making her dream a reality by becoming the best flute player in her school band. Unfortunately she is last chair...for the second year in a row...and constantly gets teased by big, mean Felicia Furrypaws. No matter how much she practices, Babymouse just can't seem to improve, until she gets a bit of advice from Penny Poodle. Now Felicia is last chair, and Babymouse in on her way to greatness.

I love this book so much.My favorite part was when babymouse
was playing her flute.I liked that part because she didn't
know how to play the flute and she had to play in front of
her whole class.A girl that dosen't like babymouse invitesher
over and lets her play a solad gold flute. The girl that invited her over had buncthes of solad gold flutes. So babymouse became famous.bdgjjdgp

Babymouse has high hopes of becoming a rock star and finds that it isn't easy. Sometimes, you need to practice and ask others for help. She also spaces out at times and puts herself in the Wizard of Oz and makes herself the Pied Piper. I like that the pictures are simple and only use two colors: black and pink.

This Babymouse is about Babymouse trying to get better at playing the flute. And she's terrible at it! Whenever you listen to her you just hear SCREEEEEEECH. It's not fun to listen to. Babymouse needs to learn to go into a happy place to learn to play her flute. You won't believe how the book ends!

The more I read Babymouse, the more I love her. She has a fabulous imagination and problems kids can relate to, like a school bully and tryouts for the school concert. Plus, I'm ridiculously fond of how pink everything is.

Babymouse stars in her daydreams of pink, black and gray. In real life she is first chair flautist wowing the audience, but in her imagination is is a electric guitar playing rock star!

Holm's keeps up the wonderful graphic novel series...
Babymouse learns sometimes it isn't about how hard you try, it is about letting yourself try.

This book was really good because it made me feel like a rock star after reading it.

Overall, just 'meh'. A particularly boring addition to the series, and while I did enjoy the segue into the Wizard of Oz ("follow the green linoleum!") too much of it felt forced. Felicia may get her comeuppance, but it doesn't feel right for Babymouse to 'win' in this case. Is it maybe because she is typically such an underdog character? Maybe, but it doesn't seem as good of a read simply because she does so clearly come out on top... and don't mean in a 'being the better person' way.
