My four-year-old son picked out this book from our local library last week.

As a rule, I do not find charm in books that are written in rhyme just for the sake of being written in rhyme. There are exceptions to that rule, but this book isn't one of them.

There are some charming phrases in this book, about the the bear's fur being kissed away and how it used to be white but now is grey. But the jerky rhythm and uninspired rhyme are just not endearing to me. Or to my son. We stopped reading this b
