Offbeat humor--or at least, that's how it comes across to non-Japanese people, and thus it's not to everyone's taste. But Kobayashi knows cats and people well, which is why it comes off as hilarious to me. This volume includes human and feline thieves, yakuza, and Catzilla, an overly-beefy kitty who can be a little inconvenient on the dinner table.
Makoto Kobayashi (小林 まこと Kobayashi Makoto) is a Japanese manga artist that is best known for his unusual drawing style.
