I like a couple of Bernstein's other books but was pretty disappointed with this one. He appears to be quite naive about benefits of government spending dynamics -- theory may be one thing, but practice is something else completely. He also seems do ignore cost-benefit analysis and that government tends to be slow to invest capital to raise levels of productivity.
