The family returns to their home in the city after a holiday at Grandma and Grandpa's house in a small town. Their journey is full of things to see and places to visit. Each page has one large picture with several smaller ones from a slightly different perspective; the reader can use these to find the route the car followed.

This is a more challenging read than are most search-and-find books, and there are more possibilities on ways to use this with a child ... which means its can be used for a variety of ages. I see that it's a Discovery Toys title, that's not surprising.

What a lovely little book to encourage the simplest form of close looking. I read similar books by Usborne as a child in which images from the main picture were dotted around the outside and it was the reader's job to try and find them hidden - a little like Where's Wally? but more to find.

The Journey Home is slightly different in that there is a genuine story of sorts running through the book. The watercolour pictures are engaging and fun to look at and the story (which runs in smaller frames
