Ya terminé la parte de historia de Europa así como la de historia de la literatura y ahora voy en la página 400 acerca del arte, el libro es realmente bueno para aquellos que como yo no contamos con una memoria fotográfica y necesitamos de cuando en cuando recordar y repasar un poco. Eso sí no hay que tomar este libro como una biblia, si no mal recuerdo hay una parte en la que dice que Kafka mecanografió algunos escritos para Joyce, una falsedad auspiciada por la coincidencia del espacio/t...more

El libro hace un recuento del arte, la música, el teatro, etc. de la humanidad, empezando por los griegos hasta la actualidad. Termina compartiendo algunos buenos hábitos sobre la cultura y como evitar ciertas actividades no propias de alguien culturalmente activo.

I'll be reading this very slowly. It's not really the kind of book you read all at once. It's part of my 2008 language skills maintenance program (I spent the last week visiting friends in Germany and if felt like there was rust all over my German....)

Para quem tem pressa e quer saber pouco de muitas coisas, este é o livro perfeito, de música com Bach a Fausto até ao Grande Guilherme (era Guilherme, não era?) um bocado sobre tudo. Vale a pena.

Liest sich gut, und man lernt was dabei, aber Schwanitz' Verständnis von "Bildung" ist mir teilweise etwas zu "Deutschland-lastig".
