Cats Cats Cats is a small book of early drawings of cats by Andy Warhol with quotes about animals, cats and people. These specific quotes were not written for the actual book but quotes pulled from newspaper cliplings, interviews and his own book The Philosophy of Andy Warhol. My new beau (a fellow cat lover, yay!) lent this to me. It was a lovely celebration of the magic and mystery of cats. I've never thought much of Andy Warhol's work, but I could feel the life in these cats oozing off the page. 'Pets are really the answer'.
I feel guilty loving this so much because usually I hate these cheesy, precious little gift books with quotes taken out of context. But I'm crazy about Warhol's pre-pop illustration work and I love cats and God knows I can't afford any of the original super exclusive chapbooks these illustrations were taken from, so I'm glad this cheesy, precious little gift book exists.
