Cats Cats Cats is a small book of early drawings of cats by Andy Warhol with quotes about animals, cats and people. These specific quotes were not written for the actual book but quotes pulled from newspaper cliplings, interviews and his own book The Philosophy of Andy Warhol. This series of doodles and small paintings painted by warhol in the 50s when he worked in advertising showed the early signs of what he would later become famous for in the 60s, sharp design, bold color and repitition of t...more
My new beau (a fellow cat lover, yay!) lent this to me. It was a lovely celebration of the magic and mystery of cats. I've never thought much of Andy Warhol's work, but I could feel the life in these cats oozing off the page. 'Pets are really the answer'.
I feel guilty loving this so much because usually I hate these cheesy, precious little gift books with quotes taken out of context. But I'm crazy about Warhol's pre-pop illustration work and I love cats and God knows I can't afford any of the original super exclusive chapbooks these illustrations were taken from, so I'm glad this cheesy, precious little gift book exists.
Small gift-sized book containing Andy Warhol quotations about life combined with his drawings and paintings of cats. Cute.
Tank Girl
Cute little book. Not much too it, but simple does it :)
Found it a little odd to see the pet owner side of Warhol though!
Kind of cool.
