Who knew Pierre Louys could restrain himself so much? Here he holds his writing very much in check. In fact, it's the first pornographic novel where you have to infer that characters are fucking. "Oh, I see, so the Grecian youth rides off on the back of the centaur and we assume they fuck in the woods?"
