Maybe the story was a little dated for me, or maybe the whole issue of the age difference between the two women being SUCH a focus annoyed me. I think Nikki was written a little more childish than she should have been, and Kate a little older. A more romantic than passionate couple, plus a rather obvious set-up in the plot, made the reading of this slower than normal.
