My elderly neighbor told me that this book was about medieval crusaders finding affinities between Islam and Christianity. Silly me, I was halfway through this florid tale before I realized that that was NOT where this romance was headed. Lashings of medieval castles, Druid magic, ancient wisdom, mythical creatures conjured from the depths, all piled deep in the primeval forest. A good read-alike for Mists of Avalon fans and romance generally.

SPECTACULAR! This is a wonderful saga of the Celts and the Fey Folk. Greed for the dragon caves started the war between the sorcerer Dain, the Fey Rhuddlan and the evil Caradoc. Friends once upon a time, the maid Ceridwen is wanted by all for different reasons. I enjoyed the coyness displayed between Ceridwen and Dain. I enjoyed this book as it was a fairly easy read, aside from the Fey/Welsh words that I had to keep looking up.
However, it did get a bit inundated with the descriptions at times for my liking.
The romance and the saga of the adventure between Ceridwen and the supporting cast, especially Dain was great.
I was expecting more of the dragons to be seen other than the final 75 pages, but overall it was good.

For picking this up at a Thrift store for 25 cents, I really enjoyed it. While parts I found a tad slow and a bit confusing, the story was intriguing.

Although a teenage love story at heart, the plot has many twists and enough depth to satisfy. Also very well researched.

Not realizing it was part of a series, I had read the second one first, and honestly, I liked it better than this one, but I think it's just that I like the hero and heroine characters better, not that it was necessary a better story. And this one is definitely a good story. Worth reading if you love fanta

Excellent book to take while waiting in line. Reminds me of Mary Stewart's Crystal Cave series.

i bought this book on a whim, and the author blends romance, fantasy, celtic mythology, druidism, and early welsh history to make a pleasant read... i liked this book better than the 2 subsequent novels.

Loved this book. I read Prince of Time first and liked it even more, though it is actually the third book in the series.
