I thoroughly enjpyed this novel for whatever reason. Mike Gayle is likely lesser known that Nick Hornby, but seemingly very similar. Novel is about a man that struggles with the idea of moving from boyfriend zone to husband zone. There should be a name for this type of genre, I suggest "brit lit."

Duffy can't imagine life without Mel, yet the prospect of marrying her terrifies him. Plenty of gently funny social commentary, a few laugh-out-loud moments and some genuinely sad ones in this tale of an aspiring stand-up comedian and his long-term, long-suffering girlfriend.

women with men who won't commit
This book is written by a British male author about a 28 year old guy who won't commit to his girlfriend of 4 years. It's pretty interesting because it puts you inside of most guys heads. The storyline is very realistic and I really enjoyed reading the book.

I had a tough time with this one. To be honest everytime I wanted him to make a surprising choice he didn't. It was funny, but predictable. Frankly it was chick lit, bad chick lit.

I liked it for a romantic fiction story. But they break up and get back together over and over. I kept reading cause it was giving me anxiety and I wanted to get it over with!

Boring and dull. The pitiful male equivalent to Bridget Jones. Reading it cleared my mind of any intention of ever reading any other book written by Mr. Gayle.

Enjoyed this book - again, it's been awhile since I've read this... so I don't have much to comment on about it.

Somewhat predictable, but funny. If you like Nick Hornby's High Fidelity, you'll like this one too.
