Decent biography. It gave good facts surrounding the production of several of his movies.
I really could have done without the scene by scene summary of each movie. I have seen nearly every single one of his movies, and maybe it's just me, but I think it would be inherent that someone who is going to read a biography on a filmmaker, has seen some of their work. Those parts really dragged, and I begin skimming over them.

I was really excited to read this... I LOVE Tim Burton! But, I am going to have to find it in large print or use some sort of magnifying glass... the text is super teeny tiny and my eyes were killing me when I tried to read it. Bummer.

Ken Hanke unnecessarily gives a play by play of each film. Then, he overanalyzes the characters, making an attempt to fit Tim Burton into each movie. For any Tim Burton fan, this book was a wasted read. Burton on Burton was far better.

pretty good overview of the man and his films a little biography and some dime store psychology. unfortunately the book only covers his career up to Mars Attacks but it is a good read even for just a casual tim burton film fan
