MWAH HAH HAH...erm, excuse me. I was practicing my evil laugh per page 23 of "How to Be a Villain". First, a great big THANK YOU to Pamela who turned me on to this wonderfully wicked and side-splittingly seditious book. "How to Be a Villain" is your step-by-step guide to all things villainous. Conveniently divided into five informative sections, each containing suggestions and examples to help you on your journey into the heart of darkness. From picking a villain outfit to choosing the perfectly...more
For all you wanna be Evil-Doers out there, this book is a must read. Neil Zawacki ‘s How To Be A Villain helps you discover and develop your inner talent of being malicious, power-hungry, and/or insane. His book starts off with a simple test to answer what those voices inside your head have been asking, “Am I Evil?” including questions such as:
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A. Police Officer
B. Doctor
C. Ballerina
D. Supreme dark overlord of all mankind, or a lawyer
Once you have determine...more

An excellent book. Very funny, well written, and mostly for all ages. Some might say it's not entirely appropriate for young children, but that is purely because there are a number of jokes in the book that they are not likely to understand, and not because the book has content that will traumatize them.
A satirical book, poking fun at many things in politics, economics, and just society in general, How to Be a Villain is an intelligently humorous read in the superhero/supervillain genre. Despite...more

This book was hilarious. I laughed out loud in almost every page – especially because as a fiction reader, I’ve seen all of these villains (and even the ‘forces of good’) in books and they are so freaking cliche! The author has a way of putting into words the most ridiculously (funny) statements that made you realize how many eye-rolling villains we’ve seen in books or movies. One of my favorite pieces of advice:
If you should happen to snare [a defender of justice], for evil god’s s...more

Effing brilliant! This is one instance where I can actually say this book made me laugh out loud. Literally. It also helps that every time I read it it looks as though I'm reading it upside-down; I happened to purchase a copy in a small batch that were evidently printed and bound that way on purpose! Amazing. I resort to this book for drunken entertainment quite often. And really, is that truly the author's name or is it a play on word? mischievous
This books is very funny. My brother Matthew bought it for me a long time ago. It comes complete with a quiz to tell if you would make it as a evil mastermind and tips on choosing an evil villain name and catch phrase. My evil name is "The Librarian" and my catch phrase is "You're overdue!" Well . . . maybe it needs a little work.
A gift from my Meggidy Meg quite some years back, I absolutely freaking ADORE this book. Unfortunately while in storage the cover was nibbled by some darling rodents who I hope choked on it, but the book is still readable. I must read it again soon. At least to find out what all of those post-it flags I put in there are marking.
I got this as a gift from and friend and it is so hilariously perfect words cannot express my joy over it. The illustrations are awesome, and I love all of the different references to different villains in the fiction world. There are so many options for evil doing, and I cannot wait to enact my hostile takeover of the world.
This book was very funny and full of interesting facts and insight into what it means to be evil. I really enjoyed picking out my name (Mistress NightFury), lair (medieval castle), henchmen (gargoyles) and formulating my secret evil plans (these are secret) to unleash on the world. Great book. Definitely worth the read.
I did enjoy the book, quite humorous, and might be helpful if you decide to join the Evil League of Evil...

A very funny little book that enabled me to perfect my evil laugh, choose an evil lair, recruit my evil army and find my perfect evil outfit:) Beware, for world domination by me is only but a few months away! This complete step-by-step guide is an absolute must-have that will delight all my fellow villains in the making! The "evil plan generator" at the end of the book proves particularly helpful and Neil Zawacki even came up with a web site to help those who want to join the forces of darkness:...more
If you want to be a villain, this book serves as a good reference guide. Most people think that diabolical minds are forged out of years of hardships, mistreatment, and even plain bad luck. While that is often the case, books and movies have taught us one thing, these bad guys never win. Or if on the off chance they do, there sure weren’t prepared for the good guys in the sequel.
