Quite readable, with short chapters and nice pictures. Gives a quick overview of Christian music that is succinct and engaging.
A great history book on Christian music but it seems to get bogged down with details and looses the overall picture.
History is interesting, but this book was not.
The class I took was far more informative.

great textbook for seminary use. Lots of pictures and a broad scope of Church music; anything thing from rival to African.
Not recommended for the student musician. But for a non-music student a great choice.
