false 4611770 1 Synopsis Two alien bounty hunters and assassins are hired by the Alpha-Brizzaal, leader of the herrragh, to infiltrate the freedom fighters of his opposition, the Alpha-Corrrdaal, and assassinate their leader. Jaxxlar of the genetically engineered race, the drinn, must master his unstable predatory instincts to work with Ranger, a creature both the drinn and the herrragh used to breed for food a mere two generations ago. Ranger, descendent of the Gypsy race the vedrathi, must overcome his preconceived ideas of the drinn to enable him to rely on his partner on a world where he is the natural prey. On Andaman, a mostly untamed world, Jaxxlar and Ranger join the shadow runners in order to get close to their leader. However, they find that their mission is not so easily accomplished. Both begin to believe in the cause of the shadow runners and grow to like their irrepressible leader, Turrrvahk, and his brother, the Alpha-Corrrdaal. When a traitor is found in their midst, Jaxxlar and Ranger are forced to reconsider their mission. The future of herrragh leadership rests upon who's side they choose to be on and whatever action they decide to take.
