A must have for people interested in the topic of Free will.
Lacks in the argument department, but is rich in the rest (genealogy, thought experiments and benefits of letting go of ego theory).
Could use a modern supplement from medicine (like Into the Silent Land) or other fields relevant to the discussion (neuroscience).

Rereading after 20 years. Was stunned on first reading, at least as much now. If you think Alan Watts gets it, read this. Takes it to another level of more Westernized, academic (but not pedantic) discourse citing, accessibly, James, Minsky, Freud, Sartre, Nietschze, Skinner et al.

Couldn't help but post this...

Wonder if Sandel (see "Justice" in prior review) read this.
