The first thing that I notice from this book are the vibrant colors and they just make me want to smile or even draw a picture. Each page of this book is filled with one more reason from parent to child (or whomever the reader is to child) that "I love you" when and why. It is a fabulous book and has an absolutely wonderful message that is so important.

This book was my first Todd Parr experience, but will definitely not be my last. I cannot wait for more books and to go back and find some of hi...more

Ongoing favorite children's books list: We absolutely love Todd Parr. My sister turned me on to the author's open and friendly books, and we appreciate the many references to adoptive families. Our big surprise? Our kids love him above almost all others, Marta especially. The I Love You Book was our first, but we've now acquired a very healthy collection.

This book goes through different circumstances in which a parent or caregiver can love their child unconditionally. This book is definitely age-appropriate for toddlers. At that age it’s very important that they have a bond with someone and have experienced love from an adult. A possible them would definitely be about love.

I like Parr's books but there are always so lines that bug me. But the colors are fun and overall have a good message. I like that this book teaches children that they can be loved all the time, even when they (or we as parents!) are difficult to handle. My son thought the stinky part was funny--gotta lover preschool boys! :)

Todd Parr's books are perfect for young readers and listeners. The primary colored illustrations and the message in each book make them terrific for storytimes and for bedtime reading. Some of his other books include The I'm Not Scared Book, The Grandma Book, The Grandpa Book, Reading Makes you Fell Good and many many more.

I have truly enjoyed each and every one of Todd Parr's books, and THE I LOVE YOU BOOK is one of the best.

Perfect for bedtime, the story shares a parent's love for a child, no matter the situation. When they're tired and cranky, when they're messy or stinky, when they're sleeping or shopping, when they're walking or making new friends, mom and dad will always be there, loving them the entire time.

As always, the illustrations are what make the story so gre...more

My son loves this book so much, we've read it 5 times a day for the past six months. Great, colorful pictures and fun, positive writing for kids. We have since purchased almost all of Todd Parr's books, and love them all!

If you don't like Todd Parr you will not like this. I happen to love him and his primary colors. I love this book and the fact you are lovable no matter what. Fun family read. Ages 2+

This is a good book to reassure children that you love them unconditionally: I love you when you are sick; I love you when you are not sick. I love the brightly colored illustrations.

My daughter might give it a 5, it is sweet, and fun, but I still like more poetic prose.

I love Todd Parr -- his bold colors, "diverse" characters, simple messages. This book is perfect for parents to bond with their kids and is exactly what the title implies: I'll love you no matter what. "I love you when you hide my keys. I love you when you find new friends."

If your kid is struggling with self-esteem this book would send them over the moon!
