The situations/cases are presented in a melodramatic soap opera style I found hilarious. This book is a product of its time so there are some memorable lines like "Walter muttered to himself, 'library school never prepared me on how to handle weeping women.'" (I'm paraphrasing because I've already returned this book.)

The reason I picked this book up was because other librarians shared it on the Troublesome Catalogers and Magical Metadata Fairies Facebook page. It was everything I hoped it would be! While this book was published in 1972, a lot of the problems discussed in the case studies still happen today. The technologies and job titles may have changed but the struggle is real! I suggest that all librarians read this book.
