I'm on trial for my life. Falsely accused of infecting my human ex-boyfriend--and killing him to cover up the crime. Infecting a human is one of three capital offenses recognized by the Pride--along with murder and disclosure of our existence to a human.I'm two for three. A goner.

Now we've discovered a rogue stray terrorizing the mountainside, hunting a wild teenage tabbyc...more

This is not so much a review as it is a sorrowful, heartfelt complaint that this series is headed straight down a path where I never wanted it to go. I thought Faythe would grow as a person, a woman and a werecat and learn some valuable lessons that would lead to making more educated decisions for the Pride and for herself. But I can now most definitely predict the outcome and I hate it. Note: I also confirmed my suspicions by glancing at spoilers - not to worry as I won't put myself through fi...more

Pride continues shortly after Rogue left off. Faythe is on trial for her actions at the end of the previous book. However, it seems like her entire life is put under a magnifying glass and all her mistakes have come back to bite her on the ass once again. At first Faythe feels worried that the verdict will be for her to be caged or declawed. By being declawed she would be left helpless to defend herself for life. But she soon finds out that execution is also on the plate as well, especially in t...more

This is my favorite so far in the series--I might say the same about the next book too...So much happened in this installment--what a page turner. There was tons of action and a whole lot of "shake-up" regarding relationships among Prides nationally within the Territorial Council. I totally hate Calvin Malone--what a bastard, I hope he gets what's coming to him. So many story lines feathering off throughout this series--as in the previous book, they have discovered a new tabby and she has severa...more

It had a good storyline and it was intriguing, but so many things pissed me off about it. First of all, the "trial" was a sham, and what ended up transpiring throughout it irritated me. There were many characters I wished I could smack around. and the Marc situation just really made me want to cry.

The story ended with a cliffhanger.. of course, and I wasn't really fond of it. I feel like I waited so long for this book to come out and I expected more. I wanted things resolved, or at least beginni...more

I Loved this book!! I was hooked with Stray but it seems with each new book installment in this series I find myself more hooked than ever. Faythe is up to her usual self, her mouth getting her into trouble and her father and Marc having to sacrifice to bail her out literally ;-) but I wouldn't have her any other way I just find Faythes humor undeniably funny making for an extremely enjoyable read. This book is an easy 5 star read.

What an emotionally roller coaster this book was! While reading...more

Assuming you have read the other 2 books, we all know that Faythe has huge trouble!! God, there’s so much going on I don’t even know how to put it on paper…err, internet paper?? Lol

I think I’ll start off with Faythe’s trial. So the Territorial Council was called to order because Faythe has been accused of infecting her human boyfriend then killing him to cover up her crime (which is soooo not true…okay, part of it is). However, the Council doesn’t believe her! She admitted to infecting Andrew, b...more

Best book in the series yet! Lots of actions! Loved everything that was going on. Faythe is one smart tabby. And now it looks like Kaci will be following in her footsteps. I have a feeling Faythe can figure a way around anything! And maybe Marc and her will finally settle down. ha!

So far Pride is definitely the best book of the series. I liked Marc more in this book then I did in the past, do I think he is right for Faythe? No. But he wasn't as bad has he has been and is loyal to his Pride. For awhile I thought of maybe her and Jace but I think at some point that will be a Kaci and Jace story well when she gets older that is. So maybe over the next few books Marc will improve more and be the man/were that is right for Faythe. I like the story lines that have been introduc...more

Note: Hard to believe a series that I barely stuck with after the first book because of not liking the heroin has come such a long way! I LOVED this book and at this point I am totally hooked.

What I LOVED: Faythe has come a long way baby! I can honestly say that I really care what happens to her. The way she handled the 13 year old tabby is what really turned the tide for m...more

"What do you want me to say? 'Hey Marc, it turns out you were right. If I'd married you instead of going to school, they'd think I was worth what it costs to feel me. But since I'm only as valuable as my uterus--which is currently unoccupied--this time next week, I'll probably have gone the way of the dodo bird.'"--pg. 57, Pride by Rachel Vincent

The above quote pretty much sums up the core plot of Pride, the third book in Rachel Vincent's Shifters series. In the first two books, Stray and Rogue...more

Faythe was on a trial, accused for turning her ex into a Stray (humans who became werecats after being scratched or bitten by a werecat) n killing him after to cover up the crime, in Rogue (book 2). turning her ex was an accident; n killing him was in self-defense, but the werecats' law put her in a dangerous spot. the 3 major offenses of the Pride (the werecats territories) were murder, infecting human, n exposing the werecats existence to human. she was guilty for 2 out of 3, which probably wi...more

First of all, I wanted to say that this is my very first book review. Unfortunately, I'm not here to rave about a favourite book series but to state a few points about this book and show my own personal opinion.

I understand why this is such a popular series. I have read so many paranormal romance books and they are always about vampires, faerie or werewolves. The idea of were-cats had always appealed to me and I loved the promise of a strong female heroine. Not only that, the book is easy to rea...more

First of all I really think I should slow down with my reading as I am definitely not getting my money's worth out of these books when I am reading one or two a day. I started Pride straight after I finished Rogue and finished it in the same day, granted I stayed up past midnight because I couldn't put it down, but that's besides the point...

This book was great and once again Rachel Vincent has me hooked on one of her series with he...more

Pride goes deep into well - prides. A lot more of the werecat social structure is revealed here. I like how the author introduces new Alphas and their points of views against all things Shifters. The old and "wizened" Paul Blackthorne, the loyal yet unbiased Uncle Rick, and then of course, Malone - the jealous old bastard who drags Faythe's world to hell. The idea that someone who was only semi-familiar could create his own Pride from scratch-fevered strays seems ridiculous once you read Pride c...more

Faythe Sanders annoys me. Seriously. Her character is the most immature, hypocritical, annoying person and yet I continue to read the books. And the books continue to improve!

Faythe Sanders is a young 20 something werecat who was forced out of graduate school by her father. She lives at home and has been allowed to be one of his enforcers (protecting the family and chasing stray werecats out of their territory). That is all fine but I’m not fine with the back and forth drama of Faythe and why sh...more

As the story continues with Faythe Sanders things definitely heat up. This is the only book that has ever gotten me so Pissed Off and no i am not saying that i hated the book. I am saying i loved it!!!! The story begins with Faythe being on trial for turning and killing a human. Four men are on the council to find out whether or not Faythe is innocent or guilty. Some of the members don’t believe in innocent until proven guilty. That is the main thing that really pissed me off, well besides a rea...more

Kitabı bugün işim olmasına rağmen uyumadan hatta gözlerimi bile kırpmadan okudum , bu size ne kadar heyecanlı olduğunu hakkıda bir ipucu verecektir.Ucundan konuyu anlatmak gerekirse , Faythe - benim ona verdiğim lakap big mouth - eksi sevgilisine likantrop bulaştırmak ve sonra bu hatasını önlemek için onu öldürmek ile suçlanıyor. this book was the best one out of this series so far, i still think faythe needs to grow up bt she acting more like i woman instead of a child now and she's finally decided what she wants from marc, lets hope it stays that way even though he wont be there.

in this book faythe is in the middle of a tribunal, where they believe she's guilty until proven innocent.
the tribunal is made up of three alpha judges and some of them are corrupted and there going for faythes head.

also in "PRIDE" the tribunal...more

I am already on the fourth installment of this series. I decided to wait to write the review until now because there was so much going on I really didn't want to stop to analyze how I felt about it.
This series started with Stray It started as most PNR series do. Faythe is the daughter of the head Alpha for the Southern United States territory. As a rare female, (Tabbie), in the Pride, her duty is to marry a strong Alpha to succeed her father and then breed. Or so she thinks but her father has ot...more

Pride is probably my favourite in this deries so far.

It starts off during Fathyes trial. Faythe is on trial for the infection of her EX-boyfriend Andrew Wallace. In the previous book Fathye accidently bit Andrew. But in usual cases that should not have been possible by accident, because to infect someone you have to be Shifted(just in case you didnt know Fathye is part of a Pride of Werecats. Anyone outside of the Pride that was bitten is a Stray"the lower class" ,or you can be a Pridecat who lef...more

Good book. Pulled an all nighter reading it. I liked Faythe better than the last book, but mostly likely due to the council being undeniably comprised of some total jerk characters. The plot was full and well thought out. Cracks are just barely being seen in the elitism views held by Pride cats. Barely. I hope Ms Vincent widens them. They're also awfully shortsited in not banding shifters in general together, at least loosely in some sort of speaking truce. They don't seem to be connecting any d...more

The review for this book will include major spoilers for anyone who hasn't yet read the first 2 books Stray & Rogue so please don't read any further if you're new to the series.

The end of the last book saw Faythe kill her ex-boyfriend Andrew in self defense, this is the same ex-boyfriend who she had accidentally infected with her ability to partially shift. Now she is on trial for both of these crimes and if she is found guilty she will be facing the death penalty. As far as the council is...more

Coming right off of reading Rogue, this installment of the series picks right back up with Fayth in the midst of her trial for infecting and killing her ex-boyfriend Andrew. It's hard not to speed through this one because the drama never seems to let up and as it progresses the stakes just keep getting higher, which is a blast to read.

I'm glad the third book was filled with this much action, because at this point we're already emotionally involved with the characters and are ready to see things...more

Faythe's trial is on the run in a secluded mountain area and it's not looking good. Two out of three alphas standing as judges are against her, and her claws isn't the worst she could loose.
Unsuprisingly, Faythe's future isn't the only one at stake because another alpla seems pretty inclined to drag Greg (Faythe's father) into the dirt.

Pride's affair aside, a couple as been missing for a few days and the pride is forced to get their hands dirty after being informed by a surprising visitor that s...more

What I really liked about this book is that Faythe grew up and realized that even with good intentions or no intentions that your actions have consequences and they aren't always what you think they are. In the world that she grew up in, even though she rebelled against it she was the family pet, the one who everything centered on. Even though she wants to be her own person she still looks for the approval from her family, especially her father. In her eyes, the trial should have been nothing. S...more

“You don’t want me to stand against the council. You want a magic wand, so you can walk around smacking people with it until everything’s just the way you like it. But guess what, Faythe? Life doesn’t work like that. Life bites, and the harder you fight it, the more leverage it has to tear your heart right out of your chest. And if you really want to wake this particular sleeping dog, the truth is that if you’d just taken that "damn ring" five years ago, none of this shit would ever have happened!” 29 people liked it
