Gives a general overview to understand the conflicts between nations. Basically it is an academic book, hence a bit exhaustive. Honestly did not read the entire book (maybe 2/3rds) but was quite informative for a novice like myself.

Also a book I had to read for a class - but so glad that I did. An extremely thorough yet easy to understand account of the history and future of international politics. It never read like a text book. I know I will refer to this book often!

Well structured, but covers too much info in such a compact book.

This is [still:] one of the best introduction to the study International Relation. It discusses many wars of the world from Peloponessian era up to Bush's War of Iraq. By learning these stuff, definitely one will acquire horizon of ideas and grasp the complexity of international politics. It will launch you to study more about IR. Readble & Indispensable.

This book is a must for students of International Relations! It is well written. It combines history and theory all at once. Professor Nye successfully prove that he is the best in his field.

It's a good book, but I think it's no the best work of Nye. I'd rather read "Power and interdependence".
