One of my favourite books in the Psy-Changeling saga. This is the story of Judd (so Psy his got control on his control (also known as silence after the effect it has on silencing emotions)) and Brenna (damaged Snowdancer changeling). Besides the story between these two the empire that is the Psy world continues to develop, in this the third book.
Well, I was sucked in from the start and the thing I really like about this book is with every turn of the page something happens to keep More...

5+ stars – Paranormal Romance
When I read Caressed by Ice, the third book in Nalini Singh’s amazing and unique Psy-Changeling series, I had the same type of deep, emotional reaction that I felt when I read another love against all odds paranormal romance favorite about a damaged H/H couple who heal each other, J.R. Ward's Lover Awakened. This is an intense, magnificent, emotional rollercoaster read and my favorite of the series so far.

^^THIS IS ONE ICEBERG I WOULD KILL TO CLIMB!^^
I have to say I thought Visions of Vaughn was the shit in this series, but it’s like generic potato chips, its good but its no fucking Lays. Caressed by Ice is Lays and it almost killed me. I was two seconds away from wanting a cold hearted boyfriend. I wanted the challenge; I wanted to be caressed by ice. I was really looking forward to this installment in the Psy-Changeling series, and I was not disappointed. It seems with each book the heroes become more alpha and the scenes more heated. Certainly that's true of Caressed by Ice.
Judd Lauren. Wow. Who would have thought any man named Judd had it in him? (That name actually worked here because the hero is so cool and intelligent and aloof-- the antithesis of the stereotypical redneck, LOL. He dispels those images immediately.) It took More...

4-4.5 stars.
Not much to add after so many glowing reviews. On a general level, I am liking this world a lot, but feel that, after reading the first three books so quickly, I need to slow down/pace myself. I'll probably take a break to get to some historicals in between this one and Clay's book. I was so eager to get to Judd's that I sped through books 1-3.

You will all say I didn't get the point of this series if I keep complaining about the fact that there's such a slow building that it always drives me insane and that it always leaves me cold. Ok, I'll concede that. But really, it became interested at the 75% mark and it was incredibly beautiful and hot for the last 9%.
I'll read the sequel because the world created by Nalini Singh is really fascinating and I like the pairing up of almost not-compatible protagonists. The Ghost sub-plo More...

Is it me or does Nalini Singh's books just keep getting better and better! "Carressed by Ice" features Judd "The Ice Man" Lauren, who is a Psy that now lives with the SnowDancer Pack to protect his brother and his nieces and nephew who were going to put in for "rehibilitation" which is tantamount to death, and Brenna Kincaid, the Changeling female that was saved in the first book, but had been badly tortured and mind raped by Enrique Santiago, a Psy and member of th

Wow! Just wow. What an amazing read. After reading it for the second time I definitely can say that this is still one of my fav books in the series. I mean, I love them all but this one and book 6 are the best. Not much to say about this book that hasn't been said already. What I can tell you is the reasons for why this is one of my fav.
First of all, the hero (Judd) is just too hot for his own good. There's just nothing more sexy than a hero who is indiferent to everybody except the More...

This is the fourth book I read in this series and the fist one where we have a Psy hero and a changeling heroine, not only that but the heroine is Brenna, the woman rescued from Enrique Santano at the end of Slave to Sensation. She survived but she has felt damaged ever since despite the healing rituals she undergone with Sasha and Judd Lauren.Judd is a member of a family of Psy’s who defected earlier and joined the Snowdancer pack, in this book we learn that while still in the Psy world Judd wa

A strong-willed, violated changeling wolf. An elite exiled Psy assassin. Two people touched with darkness will find the light together.
The third book in Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series, Caressed by Ice is about Judd Lauren and Brenna Shane Kinkaid, two characters we have met in the previous books. Brenna, after surviving the brutal kidnapping and torture she had suffered under the hands of the Psy Concil Member Enrique Santana, is now in the process of mending. However, her More...

This one tells the story of Brenna and Judd. Brenna's the changeling who was kidnapped and tortured during the first book of the series. Judd's the Psy assassin who fled with his family from the PsyNet to escape rehabilitation and ended up living with the dominant wolf-changeling pack. Wow this stuff sounds far-fetched, but that's paranormal romance for you. I didn't expect to enjoy this book too much. I was resentful of how the first two books dealt with Psy females who were so emotionally

The great thing about the 3rd book in a series is that it is no longer new to you. While I love reading a new series where you get to know the characters and everything feels so new, it lacks the meat of the storyline.
Caressed by Ice is the 3rd book in the Psy-changeling series. Now I have the comfort of knowing the characters and the storyline premise has really picked and became complicated. Finally I am far enough into the series that something that happened in book 1 comes back in More...

After the first two in this series, which I wasn't too thrilled with, I'm glad to have finally found one I enjoyed. I think it was because of the characters: Judd, as a psi, was a nice change from the too intense, too imposing, larger-than-life bossy and a-hole alpha male heroes of the previous 2 novels...and Brenna was not the innocent, virginal, I've-never-been-loved-before-but-I-still-want-to-be-even though-it-hurts-like-hell-to-be-touched heroine. She was broken but by no means lacking, sh

Judd has interested me since the first book. I knew he's be an interesting character and I was not at all disappointed by this story. It was also interesting to get more detail on the Psy's from Singh as she developed the Arrow assassins in this book. It was also nice to be introduced to more of the ShadowDancer pack. We got to know a few more of this pack, including the Alpha, Hawke.

September TBR - Series Catch-up
Caressed in Ice, by Nalini Singh (Psy Changeling Series)
This is becoming one of my favorite series. There is always SO MUCH going on in the books. A ton of time is spent on the main couple, so that we get to know them and feel what they are going through and dealing with. There are underlying plotlines among the each of the packs and, so far between the changelings and Psy. All of which makes for very packed stories with many details and lot More...

I was really curious to see how Judd's story would play out. It was a lot more intense than I thought it would be. The hold that Silence had on him was so intense ~ and severe. If I didn't know there was a HEA, I would've been concerned.
I also liked how Brenna's story worked out especially after all the abuse and trauma she had gone through. The part in the epilogue was the best ~ when they were "playing".
The difficult parts are all the "bad" guys. More...

The 3rd book in the Psy/Changeling series seems to be a favorite amongst its fans and I too have succumbed and joined the legion of fans who loved the story of the very lethal Psy Judd Lauren and the strong Brenna Kincaid whose dark past would have completely broken down a lesser woman.
Judd is a fascinating Psy not only because this is the first time that a male Psy is in the position of a hero but because Judd is a defector from the Psy world where he was trained to be a lethal kill More...

Disconnected from the PsyNet the Lauren family is presumed dead by The Council. However they found sanctuary at the SnowRiver pack. While the three young ones of his small family are adapting and his brother tries to find his place Judd remains distant and rigid. The hate for Psy within the Pack inflames as Brenna is kidnapped by a vicious Psy and tortured for a long time.

Gorgeous read - the best of the Psy-Changeling series thus far - but I'm well aware that I still have 6 more books to read, so perhaps my thoughts will change. The weakness about the romance I mentioned in Visions of Heat was definitely 'fixed' for lack of a better word. The hurt/comfort romance development worked to its advantage because here, Singh juxtaposed the positions between the two races. The supposedly unfeeling, 'Silent' Psy was the one giving comfort while the normally robust and emo

Judd Lauren was an Arrow, an elite soldier trained to be a merciless killer under the complete control of the ruthless Psy Council. But when Judd's family was slated for rehabilitation, a fate far worse than death for any psy, he defected and now the Laurens live hidden in SnowDancer lands. Brenna Kincaid was a happy innocent student before she was kidnapped and tortured by a Psy serial killer. Her SnowDancer pack saved her, but her scars run deep and when she begins to have visions of another k

Judd and Brenna's story was most definitely my favorite out of the whole series thus far. I love that we got to have a Psy play the male role of the story, and a changeling for the heroine. It was nice to switch settings and characters from the DarkRiver leopards to the SnowDancer wolves, and get to know the people over there a little better.

This was ok, but not good enough to tempt me to read any more of the series.
The changeling groups were interesting, but there were too many details and processes that were hard to follow. I never understood all the politicking and what was going on in the Psy council.
The story is set in the future on planet earth. There are many groups of shape-shifting creatures called changelings who change from human to animal form. Brenna is wolf/human. She lives in a wolf pack. More...

The Psy-Changeling series rolls on and Caressed by Ice adds even more layers to the story and the world. The story centers around Judd, a Psy assassin being shelterd by the wolf changeling pack, and Brenna, the changeling woman who was rescued from a Psy serial killer in the first book in the series.

Who wouldn't want to turn up the heat on this icy hunk
Caressed by Ice, the 3rd installment set in Nalini Singh's fascinating Psy-Changeling world, is a wonderful mix of steamy tension building romance and actual series building plot. I wasn't that big a fan of the first two books but this one was a lot better.
Having a male Psy lead is really interesting and intense. Judd Lauren dropped out the psynet when the rest of his family were sentenced to rehabilitation, aka mind destruction. While the rest of the family have integrated somewhat into SnowDancer society Judd remains coldly Psy. He can't afford to break his silence as he's an Arrow and a subgroup of Psy that would turn murderous without it. His control is brea More...

I really enjoyed this book. I decided that Brenna's theme song should be the Jennifer Hudson song from "Dream Girls"..."and I am telling you, I'm not going. You're the best may I've ever known, there's no way I would ever go. NO. NO. No way, I'm living without you..."

So, um, wow. Even that is an understatement. LOL. I thought Lucas and Sascha were amazing but hell if Judd and Brenna just didn't just blow me away. I swear it's like Judd messed with my mind, I feel like I can't put any proper thoughts down, haha. This was such a nice change from the previou books, now with a psy and a female changeling. There was not one part with these two that I didn't like. Their romance was as perfect as perfect can get.
