This is a wonderful story told by heart of one of the most influential fantasy writers of all time named Roald Dahl, my beloved author who has got vivid imagination children -- also adults -- must fall in love with his work when they found one of them laying on the shelf and picked it up to read. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a scary, but rather joyful, funny and likeable tales of fox and his family including other sort of animals such as badgers and rabbits trying to survive in spite of the fact that so...more

- When have you read this book?
- Well, I think I was seven years old or something.

- Could you tell us more about Fantastic Mr. Fox?
- Actually I don't remember that much about it, you know. There was a fox called Mr Fox who used to live with his family underground in a cosy tane. I remember the drawings on the book. They were nice. They were in black and white. I tried to copy them with a pencil on a paperbook.

- I guess you were talented in drawing...
- I'm afrai...more

This is one of my favourite Dahl books. I do like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and "James and the Giant Peach," but this one always held a special place in my heart. I just loved the ingenuity of Mr. Fox. He's not exactly an admirable or respectable character (he makes great fodder for classroom debate), but he is a joy to read about.

The baddies are great in this book too: the three farmers, with their disgusting hygiene. I don't think anyone writes more foul char...more

Why has no one heard of this great Roald Dahl classic? Way better than The Twits, or George's Marvelous Medicine, or The Witches. So funny. I loved this as a kid, and it's one of those books I can't wait to share with my next child who hasn't experienced it yet. And I just read it to my youngest--he demanded it twice. But, bummer. No more kids left for another first-time read of Fantastic Mr. Fox. It just looks a bit funny for me to sit down and read to myself while waiting for the doctor. And, ...more

Just finished reading this winner again tonight for no less than the tenth time. Gripping adventure--a man (actually a fox) looking out for his family and friends, outfoxing Boggis, Bunce, and Bean; "one fat, one short, one lean". The hero ends up being the village saviour and all toasts go to their "fantastic Mr. Fox". Maybe deep down there's a hidden fantasty somewhere there?

In the words of Mr Fox, " 'I hope you have enjoyed it as much as I have.' As he let fly an...more

not one of my favorites by mr. dahl, but of course likable. i think there's not enough conflict. once mr. fox starts going after the livestock, he's got the upper hand all the way to the end. the reason i noticed this has to do with the upcoming wes anderson adaptation. in movie terms, this story has no second act and i'm curious how they're going to keep it entertaining without brutalizing the source material.

My sixth grade teacher, Dennis Reece, read this book aloud to my class in the fall of 1980 and it has been a favorite of mine ever since. It contains Roald Dahls cast of grotesques and characters, especially the farmers who plot to get that crafty Mr Fox.Highly enjoyable!

I heard Wes Anderson is going to direct the film adaptation, using stop motion. So I dug up this book from a very dusty brown box and read it.

I'm pretty sure Wes and Noah Baumbach will elaborate the story (if not write a totally different one). Henry Sellick was set to do the stop motion animation but he left to direct Coraline.

It was very funny and unbelieveable as Mr.fox have no tail on it.Also, three farmers are also very stupid as they arewaiting for a long time to catch Mr.fox but he moved to another place and have a secret fodd store path to steal the food. This is one of the Marsilings book that I read.If you 're interested go and read!

I remember the first time this book was read to me in elementary school. I loved it! I went out and bought it and read it another 10 times. I can still remember almost every part of this book. The bad guys were just great and Mr. Fox was an absolute genius. I might dust it off and read it again sometime.

This is one of my favorites of all time. I HATEHATEHATE the Quentin Blake illustrations. I am searching for a copy of the book I had long ago. Same with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The only good illustrations are the sketchy pencil ones. That is it and that is all...

This may be my favorite book of all time. I first read this as a pretty young kid, but I think that everyone will love it. I reread this one at least once a year (which isn't hard since it's all of 60 pages long), but it still never loses its magic.

found copy on street walking back from club read next morning. better and worse than I remembered it - it all ends a bit quickly, but there are some great descriptions: guy with chewing gum, flies etc in his ear because he never washes = cool.

I bought this book for my son in December because I remember it so clearly from when I read it as a child. He liked it (he'd probably give it 3 stars, maybe just 2). I re-read it and loved it just as much as I did when I was young.

A cute and funny story about a fox outwitting a trio of ill-tempered farmers. Kids will cheer when the Fantastic Mr. Fox finds a solution to help all the animals. Narrated by the author, this CD makes a good family audiobook.

I remember reading this book and thinking how cool it would be to have an underground tunnel system like Mr. Fox had. I tried to convince the rest of the third graders to read it, and only one did...but he loved it as well!
