I Hope You Dance
Few songs have inspired a nation as did Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope you Dance." It affirms life and challenges you to live fully, joyously and with abandon. The companion book published in 2001 perfectly captured the message of the song and, with 1.7 million copies sold, became one of the best selling books of this decade. So much so that the book now stands alone a

A simple direct-to-the point inspirational book. When I am down, I usually pick up this book and read in 2 minutes and I am up again. I got this book from Booksale and it stays in the eye-level shelf so I can pick it up whenever I feel like reading it. One line that I like most is "When there is love, there is music and dancing... I hope you dance."
Generally I am of the opinion that country music is an oxy moron. However, I admit to liking the song, I Hope You Dance. This book is simply the lyrics to the songs along with some Hallmark-card type photos and an accompanying CD.
I Hope You Dance is a book of hope, encouragement, and inspiration. Now, the authors of the book and the song offer this wonderful and whimsical take on the "grown up" message of the book. I Hope You Dance for children is witty and fun, warm and fuzzy, wild and fanciful. For the kid in your life, here's the opportunity to say:
I hope you dance!
Stir it up, baby, make a splash
do the shag and the monster mash
the cotton eyed joe and the hokey pokey
if you ain't got r...more

When this song came out, my step-mother bought a CD of it for my daughter. It's a beautiful sentiment. At the time this book was sent to me as a Bookcrossing 'RABCK', I was struggling with some issues in my life and the message helped cheer and remind me that life is a beautiful gift.
I am not a fan of the song itself, but the lyrics and the contents of the book is inspiring. I bought it when I was still a college student, and would reread it every year or so. It's one of those books that give your soul a quick reminder to breathe.
Books as gifts? Only a teacher? Don't know, but this one makes an incredible gift if you're going for a keeper (and extremelymushysentimentality)
This is a pretty song, and it is nice in book form as well. Definitely inspirational and a nice gift.
This is a lovely little book full of inspiration. Well worth a read on a dreary day, or even a cheery day.
pretty lame.
This is a super cute book. My sister gave it to me when I graduated from high school. It is written by the authors of the popular song, "I Hope You Dance." It sort of takes the lyrics and picks them apart and adds more depth. It's really inspiring fun to read.
My mother gave me this book and so for that reason I like it. Beyond that, it is a book that takes the lyrics to Lee Ann Womack's hit song "I Hope You Dance" and expands on the idea of living life to the fullest. It also has a CD of the song.
This book made me cry. i llllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeee it

“Hope takes never ceasing
to be amazed...
wearing
your soul on your sleeve...
holding
your breath, waiting to hear
"i love you, too..."
believing
that tomorrow could be better than today...
that you'll get a second chance...
that you'll make a difference...
that you matter.”
