At the core, what you really struggle with is not believing in God's promises. This is what John Piper says. He terms the object of this belief "future grace" or the grace that you are promised to experience.
If you think you have faith, this book is a good re-evaluation or checkpoint for you. If you think you don't, this book will reiterate why it is you don't, and why it is you should.

This book is basically made up from the Application chapters from Future Grace. It focuses on major areas of sin, such as pride, lust and bitterness. And it is all about how we run to all of these things (and all sins) when we are not trusting in God's grace to be better for us than the promises that sin hold out in front of us.

I didn't read all of this book, only the chapters that currently apply to struggles in my life, but I see this as being a handy reference guide to go back to as I grow. It provides solid theology and practical advice to biblically combat sin.
Note: this is a collection of the "practical" chapters in Future Grace.
