I work with Bonnie, so this is entirely biased. I did, however, read the book before I knew her, and found her discussion of women's experiences to be endlessly eye-opening. I had been of the Joan Ringelheim school, or at least had been scared by it, and Bonnie's work helped me to understand the validity of studying a gendered history of the Holocaust.
