I'm pretty sure I already knew everything this book said (and re-said a couple of chapters later, and reiterated again after that), but it made me realize even more the importance of fitness. In short, it got me to the gym, but it also made me realize that I could have written the same book with more pizazz.
Frankly, I'm a little perplexed about the thesis in this book. The author suggests that new research finds that we might do well to "work through our pain" when it comes to certain debilitating joint issues. I'd love to think that it is that simple, and maybe it is, for many of us. Certainly I find that exercise seems to lubricate everything, even my mind. And I do believe that many surgeries could be avoided with a modicum of common sense. But I am reluctant to imagine that there is ...more
