The millennial phoenix is as vain as the carpet is magical nearly completely. There is just the one slightly rewoven patch that has lost its magic. The phoenix has just the slightest touch of friendliness, too.
This is the sequel to 'The Five Children and It' and precedes 'The Story of the Amulet.'

Delightful Edwardian flying carpet larks. Second book in the 'Five Children and It' trilogy. The endearing 'n' pompous Phoenix is one of my favourite characters in literature.

I loved this book when I was in first grade, so I read it again recently and was not so impressed. I suppose that's just because of the difference in age. Kids would love this book.
