The entire series was great, and I highly recommend reading all of them in order. (They can be read out of order, but the conclusion of this third book felt more like a conclusion to the entire series, not just the book, so that is why I recommend reading the books in order.) I think this book was my favorite of the three.

The story is pure fun and fantasy, and takes place on the make believe isle of Asencion. It's fast paced and very sexy. Before Prince Rafe finds himself in charge of the kingd

So I will admit that I have a love/hate relationship with Gaelen Foley's novels. Those that I love go on my keeper shelf among my favorites and those that I hate...I tend to really hate.

Unfortunately this one ends up in the latter category. Minor spoilers ahead*******

Here are some of my complaints:
1. I loved loved loved Pirate Prince, and I don't like couples that I love messed with. I don't like how Foley portrays either Allegra or Lazar in this book. They were such great people in Pirate Pr

Another winner!!! I loved reading about the prince. He was hurt deeply in the last book and he needed the right woman to heal him. I am totally smitten with these books.

Book 3 in the Ascension Series

This was the first Foley book I read outside the Knight series, and I was glad to see her masterful character development did not disappear.

Can I just say - Lady Daniela Chiaramonte is probably one of my favorite heroines ever, in my reading history to date. She is moronically brave and noble, a real spitfire... she has balls of steel. She

Another story that could have been good but went down the drain due to the author trying too hard and biting more than she can chew. Too many things in the story didn't need to happen because they either vanished into thin air or the conclusion offered no real answer. I'm beginning to notice that Foley loves to engage her heroes and heroines in utterly irrelevant and stupid arguments that usually take them two or three steps back in their relationship. And if the author's only mean of keeping th ...more

Lady Daniela Chiaramonte is a Duke's granddaughter. She's also got a secret identity, that of the Masked Rider, who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. All that is about to change when she and her band of merry men rob the Prince, also known as Rafe the Rake. When the chase for her or rather the Masked Rider lead the Prince to her home she catches his eye. He doesn't suspect her, but her men have been captured and will be hanged if she can't free them. Very fun read.

This is the third and last book of the Ascension trilogy. We finally get Rafael’s story. Rafe has turned into quite the rake since we last saw him in PRINCESS. The betrayal by Julia Caluzzi has left its mark on his personality. The prince has become bored and disenchanted. His father won’t assign him duties that will keep him busy so he spends his time drinking and seeking pleasure and adventure. Unfortunately the people and the cabinet of ministers are not impressed with these past-times. Rafe ...more

Alas, I have committed the first sin in reading a trilogy! Unfortunately, when I picked my Audio book copy up, the first two novels in the series were not available, so I read Prince Charming without having read the first two books. Thankfully, this did not detract from my enjoyment and I was able to follow the plot quite easily.
I chose this book firstly, because I enjoy a bit of history with my romance; and secondly, because I like to listen to something light and airy that isn’t going to make

The best in the series. Pirate Prince and Princess was a bit of a let down for me but this book was so much fun to read. GF totally redeemed herself with this one. It had several twists and turns in it and to read of Rafael's friends deal with the turmoil in the manners they did was an added depth to the story I liked. Dani was so brave to endure the things she was challenged with.

The story has so much to tell that I couldn't do it the justice it deserves. I will say that when Rafael and Dani fi

I downloaded this book from my library's online e-book library a few nights ago because I couldn't fall asleep and was in the mood for a cute romance story. When I found one that was called Prince Charming I knew I couldn't pass it up. Five hours later it was 5:00 am and I was almost done and I knew the even though I wanted to know the ending, I should probably go to sleep. After a long slumber I spent the next day trying to find any time I could to finish

For the last book in the trilogy, this was somewhat a weak link. Characters weren't impressive and strong as the 2 previous books, and if I were to rearrange this I'd put this in the second, and put Serafina and Darius's story for the grand finale.

This novel is also emotionally charged and I noticed a pattern of women empowerment in these books; that's one of the things I like about Gaelen Foley's novels, damsels aren't always in distress, but they get to rescue their heroes, or sometimes get re

Overall Rating: 4.55 // Action: 3.5 / Emotion: 5 / Romance: 4 / Sensuous: 2.5 / Suspense: 3.5 // Historical Flavor: 2 / Humor: 1 / Tears: 6

Overall: 4.55: Gaelen Foley's Prince Charming turned out to be my favorite in The Ascencion Trilogy. It was a thoroughly entertaining, enjoyable book that removed the day's dissatisfactions by replacing them with a make believe story that closed with "and they all lived happily ever after." Foley inspired quick interest in this story by creating an emotional

This was my least favorite in the series. A lot of it probably has to do with it being the last one. So by now and looking back all the heroes seem a lot alike, especially in their humour and personality (having a naughty humour but suffering in silence). Also, all of them are presented as the island's casanova, even if they coexist in time (with the exception of Lazar). I brushed it off as that being the heroine's POV, like that is how she perceived them but still I couldn't help making compari ...more

Final book of the Ascension trilogy. This is Prince Rafael's story.

Again, loved the first one (The Pirate Prince), hated the second one (Princess), and am feeling decidedly lukewarm about Prince Charming.

It's so... eh. Usually, when I'm writing these reviews, I have at least a page of notes I've made while I was reading, but for this one, I only have about five lines and three of them are a summary of what was going on at the time.

I think a large part of why I'm so off about this novel is that i

The plot has been done so I wont add to it.
The good points are it is very well written with an intriqing plot, and GF has slightly redeemed Lazar and Allegra at the end (whom I thought had a total change of personality in book 2 "Princess").

There was something missing and the story as a whole never really grabbed me. Some subplots didn't ring true, like that twist at the end about the baddie Orlando .

I expect the H/H to have a problem in a book, but with Dani and Rafe every page brought them a

I don't understand why this book has (mostly) been poorly rated. It was an amazing read and the chemistry between the hero and heroine was electric, and most of the scenes made my heart clench. I admit I haven't read the first two books of the series so maybe that explains most of the ratings but I still believe this book warrants a higher rating than it does now. Gaelen Foley has always been one of my favourite historical romance writers and she definitely delivered in this one.

I fell in love with Gaelen Foley's writing when I first read Pirate Prince and once I learned that there were sequels about their children. I think I actually squealed with excitement. It is very rare when I find a book so good that I can read it multiple times and still be glued to the pages. This is what this trilogy is for me, Gaelen is able to capture love the way it is - things are not easy, not in real life. I am also a big fan of period dramas, so this hit the spot. I love how these books ...more

One of the best 3rd parts of a triology series I've ever read. It has continuity with the other 2 books, but could easily stand on it's own without being to terribly predictable.
Diana
Lady Daniela is the Masked Rider, a Robin Hood who steals from the rich and gives to the poor. One night she picks the wrong man to rob, Prince Rafael, the crown prince of Ascension. Captured and wounded, she is shocked at Rafael's indecent proposal: become his wife...

This is a very uneven book, going between sweet and distrustful, with plenty of scheming and evil villains thrown in. Dani is an interesting heroine with a lot of spunk, but there are parts where I just didn't like her as much. Raf

Aura rake Rafael kerasa banget, meski cuma sedikit scene yg menunjukkannya. Gak seperti bapaknya, Lazar, yg dapat julukan Iblis, tapi ternyata cuma 'begitulah'.

Chemistry Rafe-Dani asik juga, bikin gregetan bacanya. And sumpaaaaah ni buku bikin emosi naik turun. Mulai dari Rafe yg hampir balik k wanita simpanannya, Dani yg termakan hasutan Orlando, sampe King Lazar yg kupikir sempat menyelingkuhi Allegra.

When I chose this book I did not realize it was going to be such a steamy novel! Wow! Whew! I'm blushing! Did they really say that? Not a family friendly book (unless you are talking about making a family! :)

Lately I have just wanted to read for entertainment, for mere enjoyment. This book was just simply entertaining. It was exciting and fun and fast moving. A little too much emphasis on "his muscular body" and "her tumbling hair and her tiny waist". Its not masterfully written but a fun story
