This is a fantastic piece of socio-cultural history (and I'm not saying that just because Caroline is a dear friend). By exploring things such as body building and physical culture, swimming, naturism, and play she investigates important questions concerning how New Zealanders thought about and acted on pleasure and leisure, how they had fun and enjoyed themselves, and how while leisure may have been approved of, pleasure was in some ways illicit.
