Vian liked lists. His poetry, in this book at least, is rich with them. The title poem is in fact a catalogue of things Vian would've liked to see and do before dying. (I sure hope he eventually got to "wear a dress on the grand boulevards.") It's a whimsical poem with a wry punchline. And that was his specialty, during this period, during all periods.
