Although the new Supreme Court nominee is from his home town, Ben Safford doesn't have to worry about it--he's a congressman, and only senators vote on these appointments. But Ben soon gets sucked into the furor around Coleman Ives. First the one senator opposing Ives is gunned down. Then there's the scandal about Ives' private life. Unwittingly, Ben becomes the one person who can put together the pieces and find out just what's going on with this appointment.
Another entertaining entry in this series featuring an Ohio congressman with support by his fellow committee members. The plot focused on a Supreme Court nomination and was tightly written with some sharp observations about politics and the DC lifestyle.

So-so mystery involving senators and congressmen over the confirmation of a Supreme Court chief justice nominee. Much of the story revolves around an unassuming small town Ohio congressman who helps solve the mystery. Nothing spectacular, but a low key nice read.

Another great Ben Safford story. This time it involves the appointment of a Supreme Court Justice.
Coleman Ives seems to be an ideal candidate for the court but then the cracks start showing and it's up to Ben and his friends to put the whole mess right.
Fun rea.
