Decent introduction to Latin American history. Read it for a history class and it definitely should have been paired up with other books that dug a little deeper. A lot of really interesting events get the mandatory once over, maybe 5-10 pages to explain Cuba in the Cold War or only a chapter about the Populist dictators. The Mexican Revolution has its own chapter but Zapata and Villa are given just a few mentions and a sidebar.
