This is a charming story. The family is poor, but extremely happy and loyal to their mom. In the end, they have quite a change in fortunes as they become indispensable companions for a wealthy family.

The only part that might cause Grace & Ian to pause and ponder in any sort of negative way is the burglary scene toward the end of the book. But, it is fairly benign.
I didn't realize when I requested this from the library I was getting an abridged version. I read it just the same wishin I had requested the original version. It was such a delightful story with a bit of an unpredicted ending. Next time I will defintely be careful when requesting classics from the library.
I love how well they get along, they are always so kind to each other.
