I thought this was a fun adventure with Janco and Ari. It made me laugh a few times and gave me incite into just how spazy Janco is. Haha.

"Power Study" is an eight chapter side story written from the perspectives of two of my favorite characters from the series: Ari and Janco. I found this to be a fun read, and an interesting enough set of events to what the two were doing while Valek and Yalena were off on their own pursuits. Maren has a bit part in this story as well, adding to both the humor and dynamic.

What I liked about this particular story is the life given to these characters. The dialogue is sharp a More...

This short story is a little longer than Assassin Study and it features my two favorites characters from the series: Ari and Janco.

Unlike Assassin Study, where we get a lot of unnecessary background info (if you're reading a short story from a series, it should be assumed that you're familiar with that world), here almost everything relates to the events at hand, leaving the characters (and readers) free to live this story without worrying about the past of the future.

If you are going to write a short story it should be neat, compact and free of mistakes. There were so many holes and errors in Power Study I couldn't even begin to explain them all. One of the most obvious is Janco's whole persona. One minute he's supposedly brilliant then a few paragraphs later he states thinking isn't his strong point. Come on! Even a brief read over would have caught a mistake a glaring as that one. I feel like the whole purpose of this story was just to let us know that Jan More...

SQUEE. The second Study novella, and I think this was my favourite of the three - although it might be tied with Assassin Study, I'm not sure.

It was Ari- and Janco-centric which absolutely made me giddy with delight because I just adore their banter! They're such great characters and it was awesomely fun to read a story in which they were the main players. My only sadness was that Maren didn't accompany them for the entire novella - I love her as well! But for sheer, unadulterated A More...

I have to say I love these refreshing novella's Snyder has made available (free online at http://www.mariavsnyder.com/powerstudy.p...). They add a insight to secondary characters from the study series and are quick reads that pack a big punch and are well worth the read.

In POWER STUDY (study #2.5) the humorous banter between Ari and Janco and Janco's cocky bravado is a light and well received break in the study series. I truly enjoyed this fun mini action adventure.

This is a novella that falls between Magic Study and Fire Study. It has two of the more interesting characters in the Study series; Janco, and Ari. This takes place as Valek is away on a mission, leaving them in charge of the compound.

There's an interesting fight scene with a green recruit, Rye, who has bested all others with a long scimitar he somehow got from Sitia. The story itself surrounds the scimitar, Pemba, and the possibility that it might be alive with magic, and if the mag More...

Oh how I love the wild adventures of Janco and Ari. Seeing things from both their p.o.v was awesome and added to the charisma of the novel. After reading about Ari and Janco for a while I wish that there be another whole series about the pair and their unique situations in which they seem to continuously get into. A bit of romance for them would be fun to see also.

This is a short story you can Google and read in 30 minutes. It was fun because I love the characters and setting, but it wasn't anything like the books, and it ended too abruptly for me. But I wouldn't want to read a whole book from Janco and Ari's perspective. I missed Yelena and Valek. I'm sure I'll read the other two short stories (Assassin Study and Ice Study), but I think I'll feel the same about them.

Power Study is all about Ari and Janco. And trust me when I say this, THERE CAN NEVER BE ENOUGH OF THOSE TWO! Okay I am calm. It's that just I loved the duo on the first book and not catching enough of them in the sequels was really sad but fortunately there is a short story where Ari and Janco deals with an hot headed soldier. Short, but sweet nicely done.

If you liked Ari and Janco you gotta read Power Study

This is a short entertaining story about two of my favorite characters in the study series, Ari and Janco ,it had a capturing beginning and it read so well;
if it wasn't for the power twin, i would give less than four because sometimes some events are not matching with the study series;
It just a short story and doesn't add anything to the study series but it is great to read about the Power twin

It was a fun, quick & light read. It didn't have very much substance but it's a short story. A fun side story on 2 good characters you dont see too much of anymore.

I like an author who continues to have fun with her characters and delves more into their world and their lives. It's great for fans because they feel like the author is getting something special from the author.
It's not a polished product, which is fine as long as it remains free website comment. It would be a shame for her to turn unpolished work (like Stephanie Meyer did) into something fans have to pay for.
As is the story is enjoyable and interesting, filled with the same action More...

Not nearly as good as everything else. I couldn't believe that Ari would get so upset with Janco all the time when they're best friends, etc.

meh. a tiny snippet that doesn't give me much insight, but rather only alludes to the one-mindedness of the periperhal characters.
