I didn't think much about this book when i first saw it, the headline was particularly weird. But i happened to read a review of it in the paper and i was really intrigued. This rarely happens that i go rushing to read a book what about i've read on the papers. But Im really glad I did. 5 points out of five, if Id have to rate it.

small piece of art. roughly 100 pages, but still a very detailed story of a boys life. incredible how the author managed to get you to want to cry and to laugh just in the next moment. must read!

Though a little sparse in it's style, I adored this short little novel that is full of tragedy and solace...I encourage anyone to pick this book up, read it in French if you can!

very sad!! Book is in the children's section in Norway but I think it's written more for adults.

Finally read this beautiful story. great author, beautifully written it touches the very deepest questions of life and death and even though it touched me and taught me lessons of life..it never made me cry, but smile and be happy about life and about having the chance to read such a wonderful book. Short and intense.

There’s no mention made anywhere on Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt’s Oscar And The Lady In Pink (2002) that it’s the third title of a loose series called Le Cycle de l’Invisible, four books that deal in some way with world religions. And, if the tone of this novella is consistent with the rest, they do it in a lighthearted way.

Oskar und die Dame in Rosa is a short novella about a boy's final days. The relationship that develops between Oskar and an elderly nurse is touching, but not really explored as much as it could be in a longer format. The story provides pictures of how different people deal with death, but as they are presented within the short confines of 100 pages, these thoughts and relationships are reduced to cliches. It's still a cute read, but nothing more.

This is the first book in French that I read, as an instruction from my private French teacher. I discussed it a lot with my teacher as I read it and ended up loving it so much. This is a story about a little boy who suffers a terminal illness. His relationship with a volunter at the hospice is so touching, heartbreaking, but oftentimes amusing.

Months ago, I caught an enchanting interview with Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and decided to read his work. Oscar et la dame rose revolves around a terminally ill boy who is encouraged to write letters to God [how did he get the address???]. While at times a little too formulistic, overall, it was a sweet read.
