An interesting enough study of Hoffmann's work especially as I've just read The Devil's Elixirs. The chapter on that book was the most interesting as the author proposes that Hoffmann was ahead of his time and was a sort of proto-Existential writer. There are interesting summaries and a some biographical info too.
