A great, no-nonsense guide to trauma care. Starts with the basics like how to clean and stitch up a wound, leads into more advanced techniques.

The gunshot wound chapter was fascinating. For example, the task of extracting a bullet, so often shown in tv and movies, is rarely a good idea. The risk of causing further damage through exploratory surgery is high, and the body will naturally form a barrier around the foreign body and push it to the surface over the course of days or weeks.
