Recommends it for: parents reading with their children
We recently adopted a five-year-old hound and she is very 'food-motivated.' As soon as I saw this book at our local library, I just knew we had to read it.

The narrative is very silly and humorous and we could relate to Swallowbog's family. The acrylic illustrations are a bit too rudimentary for my taste, but they do complement the story.

Overall it was a fun book to read aloud and we enjoyed reading it together.
