The Chuy Bravo advice book, spun from the television show Chelsea Lately (E! network), is a humorous look at fashion, love, music, finance, friendship, etc. from slightly out of focus binoculars. From the male perspective, executive producer Tom Brunelle might be a comic genius. From the ladies book club perspective—maybe not. Expect a slightly raunchy stab at sexual innuendo in pop culture. If you are a Clay Aiken fan, dislike bathroom humor, or have transgender friends—you might pass on the 17...more
Read this to complete the Chelsea Handler oeuvre. This dumb, amusing, and sporadically clever book supposedly from Handler's little man sidekick, Chuy Bravo, gives Bravo's "crotch-high perspective" on life matters, including money, romance, music, and family. Sample tip: "If you serve food buffet-style, make sure you have plenty of serving utensils on hand. Trust me, getting casserole stains out of a toilet brush is not an easy task."

This book is was so much fun to read. I woke my husband up with laughter on several occasions. Chelsea says the things you've probably thought before, but didn't dare to say. She reminds you not to take yourself too seriously.
Umm… I am a fan of Chelsea Lately, but this book is OK at best. There are a few funny “Nuggets” (If you don’t smile while listening to the ‘Golden Girls’ theme song “Thank You for being a Friend”, you’re dead inside). However, a lot of these seem like thrown away jokes from the show (some of them have been used).
You can probably read this book in a day (2 at most); but I only recommend it if you are Obsessed w/ Chelsea and Co. And as she would say: If that is the case, you really need to take a...more

As someone who is head over heels in love with everything that Chelsea Handler touches, I had high hopes for this book. I didn't expect it to be a literary classic, but I assumed it was going to be funny. Not only was it not really funny, but it wasn't worth what I paid for it. Most of the pages had about 20 words on it. It doesn't take a lot to amuse me so it speaks volumes that this did not. I'd say he should stick to being the butt of jokes and rethink his ability and desire to make jokes. Wa...more

Now famous as the personal assistant of basic-cable TV hostess Chelsea Handler, Chuy Bravo's path to Hollywood stardom was long and arduous—mainly because he has little nugget legs, so it takes him twice as long to get anywhere.
Born Jesus Melgoza, Chuy's first exposure to Hollywood was as a young man, when the production of The Three Amigos rolled into his tiny Mexican village, which led to a temp...more
