this book was so very very ansty :/ i dont even know why it was even marked as chic-lite.
The only reason i gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 was because i just could NOT STAND how spinless the herione was, she basically did everything to make her dad happy, who only had eyes for her brother anyway :( really sad actually, i never felt so bad for both the leads before.

This book was mostly pretty anstly perfect but its abrupt ending and no epilogue definatly cut another 0.5 from the rating too...

Just Perfect is the most perfect contemporary romance book in the 21st century. This was a simple, good to read romance. Something that's in rare commodity these days. I felt good after reading this novel. The plot was beautiful in its simplicity and also the love that was fostered between Alec and Christine was real, sweet and innocent.
The book was also funny, making it an enjoyable read. Thank god the angst was limited to the last few pages, but even then you knew that they loved one another...more

Book 2 of the "Perfect series started out REALLY slow for me. I almost quit reading but continued on because it had received so many good reviews. I'm so happy that I did!
Dr. Christine Ashton is a beautiful, brilliant, accomplished ER doctor who just can't seem to earn her father's respect or love. She is terrified of heights but is determined to learn how to ski better than her brother to win her father's approval because in her father's eyes, her brother can do no wrong. Enter Alec Hunter, th...more

This is book 2 in the Perfect trilogy. This is Christine's story.
Christine is beautiful and is on her way to become a brilliant doctor. Her challenge is to conquer her fear of heights. Cue gorgeous, completely irresistible ski instructor Alec. Christine thinks Alec is unemployed and tries to fend off his advances. She later finds out that Alec is employed and not exactly the man she thinks him to be. After finding out that Alec is not really a destitute and is capable of at least feeding her, s...more

I found this story to be very cute and sweet. I like the misunderstandings in the beginning and how we were able to see both sides, but aware that both Alec and Christine were wrong. Christine did irritate me at times with her constant need for approval, but I was glad she eventually grew some backbone. I thought Alec was very sweet and dreamy. I did read this book (the second in the series) after the third book, so I knew they managed to work everything out eventually, but I liked reading the p...more
This one was good too. I really hated Christine for not standing up to her family and what jerks her brother and her dad was ahhh I hated them. What kind of a father actually treats their child like that? Anyways I liked Alec's character the most, he was the reason I kept reading or else I would have stopped this book long time ago. I was tired of Christine's attitude for most part of the book. At the beginning of the book she was okay and kinda fun to read but her character became untorable and...more
Really am enjoying Julie's series, :O) I was lucky enough to have read book one for free via Amazon on my Iphone , and it intrigued me enough so I went and brought the next two.
I love the way in which Julie sets her books in such luscious settings, the characters are believable and the storylines can be true and realistic. All enjoyable reads, filled with love, devotion, romance and I must say smexy ! hot and definetly smoking, to make your toes curl and eyelashes flutter. Her characters are lo...more

I stopped by the used book store yesterday because I seem to be addicted to buying books. In any event this was on the bargain rack for a buck. While I usually read reviews, get recommendations, ask a librarian, or at least make sure it's book one in a series - I did none of these. I have a pile of 600-800 books waiting to be read that I've bought and yet this bypassed the whole stack. I quickly discovered that it was the second book in a series but that did not detract from this story. I'll pro...more
"Just Perfect" is the second book in the 'Perfect Trilogy', it picks up a short time after the first book ends and follows Christine, who was introduced (along with Amy - the female lead in the final book) in 'Almost Perfect'.
Julie Ortolon does very well in that her three female leads are all entirely different and flawed. It is often the case that female leads have a 'flaw' which serves no real purpose, but in these books the flaws only serve to make the characters more real - they are also giv...more

Again, I have the exact same complaint as the previous book in this series: the protagonist defies common sense repeatedly and makes bad choices. I just wanted to shake Christine and be like "Why?! Why would you even think this?!"
I loved Alec, though. He was a worthy character. And Christine was a great character in every way except when it came to her family and making decisions about relationships. Aside from those terribly important things... I really liked her! That doesn't really feel like...more

I liked Christine but if she was my mate I'd give her a slap or two. She meets this lovely guy who she likes and is attracted to but she won't date him because she thinks he's jobless, talk about judging a book by its cover! Then when she finds out he is a paramedic and search and rescue, she's all over him. To me this made her look really vain and I didn't like that as a character. I like when there's love in spite of jobs, age etc

While the previous book was nice, this one really talked to me.
Christine looks perfect on all criteria, she's an over-achiever on most things, except relationships for which she has a very bad track record of picking mutts mooching her for a few weeks or months.
She meets Alec, that looks so wrong on all criteria but so fun and charming.
I like the stories when H/h start prejudiced against the other and change their mind. I also like stories with social class chiasm, with Christine being from a v...more

If you see the date, when I began reading this book, you will laugh. Yes, I did start reading this book on my Kindle last year. Because of so many interruptions, I had to stop and start several times. I really wanted to finish it, but time wasn't on my side.
It's a very sweet romantic novel. All the ladies will fall in love with Alec and want to slap some sense into Christine. Christine has a lot of struggles that she must face, but her main problem area is a relationship with her parents. All s...more

Maddy, Christine and Amy are thrilled that their old college suite-mate has written a bestselling book, How to Have the Perfect Life—until they realize she used them as examples of how women let fear screw up their lives. The worst part is…it’s sort of true. Together they make a pact: they each have one year to face down their fears—and maybe show Miss Perfect a thing or two!

Book two in the Perfect trilogy features Christine, an ER doctor. There is skiing! And a Golden Retriever (which is, as you know, gonna hook me every time) and a wonderful guy who loves her enough to do just about anything to make the relationship work. Chris has a lot of family related issues that she needs to work through before she can become who she really wants to be and, HELLO, this is chic lit, so of course she does. But it's a fun read. And did I mention the Golden Retriever??
I enjoyed this. It was my second time , but I read it long enough ago that it wasn't boring. The dialogue kind of irritated me, though. It would be going along smoothly and then someone would say something like "You're progressing really fast" or "Well, I'm Goddamned tired of being proper. Yes, that's right, I said Goddamned." Um, okay. I'm starting to think that there are really people who talk like this and I just haven't met them. Probably a good thing.
This is book two in the series and again the story was wonderfully written. I loved the interaction between Chrisine and Alec. I thought that both character's back stories were well thought out when creating how these two would react to eachother. At times I wanted to smack Christine by not seeing things clearly and almost losing the perfect one for her. Great book...must read.
SUCH a great romance! I love, love, loooooooved this book. Okay, you've got skiing in Aspen, which is a total win; you have an awesome, independent heroine who is exactly how I want to be when I grow up (^_~); and you've got an absolutely yummy guy for the hero. And how all the issues in the novel were wrapped up at the end was, well, just perfect! ^_^ A definite recommend.
Liked the characters. Always glad there's a happily ever after. The one thing I got hung-up on was an intelligent doctor being such a slave to her father's opinion of her. I think all girls care about that, but usually by the late teens we rationalize that its his issue not ours, and adjust accordingly, but she did use this as a catalyst in one of the plots.
I enjoyed just perfect. It was a big change from what I've been reading lately. No Alfa males. Alec is so sweet, so smitten. I almost forgot how good a book can be when there is no cheating sub-plot!! It was just a very well written romance. Christine was a likeable female character. With her own confidence and self respect. Very nice change of pace. :)
It was a lighthearted read, but I enjoyed the concept of the mix up in what each assumed the other was - judging a book by it's cover - and the discovery that they were wrong. Also enjoyed the journey of watching the female lead resolve her family issues. Not a deep story, but a good summer/beach read. I read this book first not realizing it was a trilogy and it was fine as a stand alone. Didn't need to read the first to get the concept. However I do have the first one on my to read list now!
Hmm...not sure if I'm going to read the third book of this series. These are quick easy light reads but everything works out a little too perfectly for me...hence the title of the series? Maybe but I needed a few more curve balls thrown in there to spice things up a bit. Again with the racy scenes thrown in, too...

Second in the series and really enjoying Ortolon's writing. Her characters are complex and the secondary cast is a hoot! The primary antagonists in the book, one of the couple's families is simplified a bit, but the others are wonderfully drawn. Looking forward to the third novel.
I enjoyed this story. I like how the author incorporated both main characters' POVs throughout the whole book. I didn't like how the author teased about BDSM but then never really went anywhere with that. There was only a couple of sex scenes so it is not for someone looking for that but it is a nice love story overall.

Most authors will tell you they've been writing and reading since childhood. Not me. I hated reading and never imagined I'd someday be a writer. Of course, the fact that I have dyslexia probably has a tiny bit to do with my aversion to the written word.
