Madison didn’t mean to bring down a plague of plaid. She just wanted to give a poor, abandoned plaid purse a home. She didn’t know that plaid was contagious—until it spread all over her! Now she’s at home, under quarantine—but an errant burp soon sends the whole town into an outbreak of plaid. I really enjoyed reading this book. My daughter loves plaid, and she loved it too. The illustrations are fun, and the writing is fun too! The main character is a loveable little girl who finds a lonely purse. This purse paints her world plaid!

A picture poem about Madison who finds a plaid purse and how it changes her town. Cute, though a little too hard for an ESL class, they enjoyed the concept and plot. The good illustrations help scaffold.
