I've enjoyed reading this throughout the advent season. It starts with a reading for Nov. 24 and goes to Jan. 7. It has famous writers such as Thomas Merton, Annnie Dillard, Martin Luther, C.S. Lewis etc.

I love to read this book during Advent, Christmas and the days of Epiphany that follow. While I might not get to everything, there's such a range of people in this book that it's always different, always a changing perspective.

I started reading this during Advent in 2006 and can't say that I've read the entire book yet. I really like the essays and entries that I've read, I'm just not very good at keeping up with a daily devotional type of book. But I'm content to skip around, reading it when it works out and absorbing it in small doses. Don't judge me.
I read portions of this each Advent. Very nice with beautiful prose by various authors.

I enjoyed this book for the short time I had it from the library. The devotionals were thought provoking, and spent the day rattling around in my mind--as I pondered Emmanuel, God with us.

A good mix of theology and inspiring writing, with a few pages to read each day of Advent. I found it a good focus to read in the Christmas season.

I pick up this collection every year during Advent & Christmas. I don't care for a few of the essays, but I love others.
