This book was a gag gift from my roommate, but it looked amusing and wasn't very long, so I thought I'd give it a go. In spite of the title, it contains more practical advice and less goofy humour than one might expect. If I were actually a lesbian, I'd probably have given it a better rating. This book is SO funny! If you need to take a break from the seriousness of life this is the book for you. While done in a lighthearted fun way it does actually inform. For instance there is a list of lesbian authors through the ages where you might find someone you weren't familiar with. Mostly for laughs but might be helpful for a baby-dyke. If you don't know what that means - buy this book NOW!
this is actually pretty funny. it's a little outdated with some of the cultural references and of course stereotypes but hey, it definitely made me laugh several times with important sections on things like "the great lesbian haircut conspiracy" and silly "if your gonna be a lesbo, you have to know about these celebrities" etc. and dyke drama. it's funny because it's true.
Fun, tongue-in-cheek look at lesbian life in all its glories and foibles. It was published in 1996 so a whole lot of it is very outdated, though. Some of the pop culture references will go right over newer lesbians' heads because they just don't apply any more.
