Shelves: poetryanddrama
This play is an emotionally affecting examination of the negative pull of sudden disaster and gradual decline on a dour old Vermont farmer and his family. Some of the revelations are more convincing than others, but it's hard to fully judge the power of a play without seeing it staged. In its cast of characters it reminded me a bit of Brian Friel's The Communication Cord, but grimmer.
