Brian Engelhardt
Like many good books, this one is hard to describe. The prose is wonderful, even in translation. The story is a bit complicated. In short we follow the life of a young man from childhood through adulthood, in particular his marriage to a woman whose sister was murdered years before. The main character becomes obsessed with the dead sister and her (unsolved) murder and determines to find the murderer more than a decade after the crime was committed.
