I hadn't read much Horace other than what you read in Survey of World Literature classes in undergrad, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked A. M. Juster, the translator of this edition of Horace's Satires, to be on my radio show.

I was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly intrigued! This is a wonderful translation of Horace, done in Iambic Pentameter, Heroic couplets, with a wit and humor that Horace was using in the original Latin.

Please check out my interview with A. M. Juster!

Il s'agit d'un recueil 18 petits textes dans un style typiquement romain, sur de sujets aussi anodins que polémiques. L'intérêt est dans la découvertes de ce qui constitue le quotidien des Romains au Ier siècle av. J.-C. Surprenant et intéressant.
Love AM Juster, cannot get enough of his poetry; however, Horace proves not much has changes in human depravity since the fall.
